Painting Competition for the Hahnemühle Calendar 2025
Hahnemühle is celebrating its 440th birthday and invites you to join in the celebrations!
Create a motif on the theme of “Celebration“. Let the colours dance in a firework of emotions, festivities, cultures, ...!
Whether it‘s a concert, a sporting event, a film festival where hundreds of people celebrate together, as well as small private parties such as a wedding, New Year‘s Eve, or a birthday, all of these events are at the centre of this year‘s competition. The individual joy of having passed an exam or mastered a personal challenge could also be expressed in the calendar.
Design a motif full of emotions and fireworks of love, happiness, and success for a calendar 2025 full of joy. There are no limits to your creativity.
Terms and conditions for the 2025 Hahnemühle calendar painting competition:
The contest is open to all people Legal entities (e.g. companies, associations or associations) are not eligible to participate. Also excluded from participation are the employees of Hahnemühle FineArt GmbH and their direct family members and jury members of the Hahnemühle calendar competition 2025 and their direct family members.
Five entries are allowed per person. Entries can be submitted until May, 31st 2024 exclusively via the upload portal on the website www.hahnemuehle.com.
The contest is open for works of art in all painting, drawing and traditional etching techniques as well as mixed media that have been created on a Hahnemühle or Lana paper. Each image must be suitable for reproduction for the calendar in at least 40 (W) x 30 (H) cm in landscape format.
By participating in the competition, each participant assures that they are the sole author of the images submitted to the competition, that they are free to dispose of the work and the rights of use and confirms that the works are free from third-party rights.
A jury of experts will select the 12 best motifs from all of the permitted image submissions submitted in good time. The jury can request the originals from the participant for the final selection. The costs for sending in the originals are borne by the participant. Hahnemühle will return the originals after the end of the competition and will bear the costs for the return. The judgment of the jury is not contestable. The legal process is excluded.
The 12 best motifs selected by the jury will be published in the 2025 Hahnemühle calendar.
The winners will be notified in writing by December 31, 2024 / announced on the website www.hahnemuehle.com. Each of the twelve winners receive an exclusive creative package worth a total of € 350 as well as 10 copies of the 2025 calendar.
The Hahnemühle company is particularly entitled to use the winning motifs
- to reproduce and distribute in the Hahnemühle calendar 2025 and to sell it,
- make it publicly available on the Hahnemühle website, in the Hahnemühle Virtual Gallery and in the social media accounts operated by Hahnemühle (Facebook, Pinterest, Instagram, YouTube, etc.),
- to be exhibited in the Hahnemühle Gallery, at events, festivals, trade fairs and other events,
- to reproduce and distribute in other Hahnemühle print media used for communication purposes,
- to be processed in compliance with moral rights of the author.
Hahnemühle's sales partners are entitled to use the Hahnemühle 2025 calendar or parts thereof and the images contained therein for advertising and sales purposes on their trading platforms on the Internet (e.g. online shops, Amazon, etc.), social media accounts and in product catalogues to map.
The name of the winner and the title of the picture will be published with the image. In reward for foregoing the licence, Hahnemühle will pay each winning artist 2% from the total sales value of the calendars in goods or in cash. The compensation will be given out during the 2026.
